Overview

This workshop introduces Bayes Factors as a tool for model selection and hypothesis testing in Bayesian statistics.

Learning Objectives

  • Understand Bayes Factors as evidence ratios
  • Use Savage-Dickey method for hypothesis testing
  • Interpret Bayes Factor scales (Jeffreys, Lee & Wagenmakers)
  • Distinguish Bayes Factors from ROPE and LOO

  • Savage-Dickey density ratio method
  • Using hypothesis() in brms
  • Bridge sampling for complex models
  • Bayes Factor interpretation and sensitivity
  • Integration with ROPE for complete inference
