Overview
This workshop introduces Bayes Factors as a tool for model selection and hypothesis testing in Bayesian statistics.
Learning Objectives
- Understand Bayes Factors as evidence ratios
- Use Savage-Dickey method for hypothesis testing
- Interpret Bayes Factor scales (Jeffreys, Lee & Wagenmakers)
- Distinguish Bayes Factors from ROPE and LOO
Topics Covered
- Savage-Dickey density ratio method
- Using hypothesis() in brms
- Bridge sampling for complex models
- Bayes Factor interpretation and sensitivity
- Integration with ROPE for complete inference
Prerequisites
- Basic knowledge of Bayesian statistics
- Familiarity with R programming
- Understanding of hypothesis testing
